Well, good morning, Lake Point family. And if you guys got your Bibles, head over to John Chapter 4. Hey, I got to move quick. And if I seem a little extra today, that's because at all of our services in all of our campuses, we are right now, schedule of baptized, more than 400 people who have crossed the line of faith. Come on, man. And hey, listen, at all of our campuses, they're in the room with you right now. Can we show them? We're with them. Come on, man. Let's go. Amen, amen, amen. Okay. Well, hey, if you guys got your Bibles, head over to John chapter before. I have no introduction. I'm just getting right at it. We got stuff to do today. Okay? So here's where we are. We are in week two of a series who we're just calling honest to God. Total heads up. I'm going to be totally transparent. I'm going to point in my ministry right now where I don't want to do anything other than just preach verse by verse through passages. So here's all I'm doing. All these series are, are there like little different ways for me to chop up preaching verse by verse through passages. So this series, honest to God, is a series of texts where people

0:59.3

who watch this, who they are experiencing things that all of us struggle with, but nobody wants

1:03.9

to talk about, have encounters with Jesus. And it's exactly the spot where they get honest to God.

1:08.8

Jesus was God. When they get honest with God,

1:11.4

that's the spot where he breaks the power, cancels sin, and sets the prisoner free. And that is

1:15.2

exactly what will happen in your life. So we're going to get right at it. Today, last week,

1:19.4

we're talking about doubt this week. We're talking about addiction. Now, heads up, as soon as I say

1:23.8

that, about 60% of you, you just went, oh, addiction, the sermon is not for me, that's for those other people. That's for all the crack addicts and the pornography addicts and the alcoholics and all the things, that's for those people, okay? Now you're gonna say that, and then you people who say that, you're gonna go home and you're gonna spend like nine nine hours on Facebook and TikTok today. And you're like, oh man, really hope there's other people

1:46.6

with addictions got that sermon. So can I just point this out? Here's all I do. This sermon is for

1:52.2

anybody who you've ever had any habit, any issue in your life that's like, man, I want to stop.

1:59.0

I know that I should stop. I've tried to stop. I stopped even for a little while, but then it came back and I'm struggling to stop. Now, show of hands. Let's get honest right now, whole series about honesty at all of our campuses. Who has ever had at least one issue in your life like that? Where are you at? Where are you at? Hey, look around. Everybody look around.

2:18.0

The people with their hands up are the sinners, the people with their hands down to the liars.

2:21.2

So this sermon is for every single person is who this is for.

2:25.4

Let's get right at it.

2:26.3

John 4.

2:27.0

We're going to go right at the text.

2:28.2

John 4 says this.

2:29.6

Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John,

2:35.1

although in fact it was not Jesus that baptized, but his disciples are the one that baptized.

2:40.0

I don't have time to go into this, but Jesus actually never baptized anybody.

2:43.5

The reason he did this is in Jesus divine foreknowledge and his omniscience as God.

2:48.4

He knew if he baptized somebody, then for the rest of all of history, all those people would be going, well, I got baptized by Jesus and you got baptized by John over there. And my baptism counts more than your baptism. Okay. Now, so he knew that that would happen. So in his knowledge, he didn't do it so that didn't happen. So now this is awesome because we're baptizing hundreds of people today.
