Standard Issue for All Women

Hello and welcome to episode 264 of the Standard Issue Pond scene.

I'm Hennonine and on Saturday of my own volition and having paid for the privilege,

I sat in a barrel of ice water. Is this some sort of sporting endeavour, Mick?

Or in response to a sporting endeavour, like, what?

And by what do you mean, why, yeah, if you've been taken by a new internet craze, I think it's quite

interesting. I know, the things you put in washing machines at the same time.

It's like a gentleman wrote it. No, it's, you know those little bags that have like plastic,

tiny plastic things you put in the washing machine with washing up liquid.

Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I know what you mean. The capsules, yeah.

Yeah, in America, there was like one of those internet crazes of eating them.

Why would you do that? Oh, it's very dangerous and you're supposed to keep them away from babies

so that they don't eat them. No, I'm distancing myself from that. Absolutely distancing myself

from it. I did, I got in the barrel of ice water to relax. I also got in a bath of ice water

and especially called cube of water. But also in between that, I got in saunas. It's the

brilliant Hackney Wick community sauna. It's great. It's really lovely fun.

And I did feel very zen by the end of it, which is unusual for me. I'm not someone with energy.

That sounds very Hackney Wick. It was so Hackney Wick. Also, I wonder if either of you two

could describe to me what you think a sauna hat would look like. Like a swimming cap?

Interesting, Hannah. A sauna hat. I don't know. I don't know why. I don't know why,

but I'm picturing those things that old men wore us like caps at bedtime in like, you know,
