TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:

ISAIAH 53:7 - He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.

MATTHEW 27:13-14 - Then Pilate said to him, “Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?” 14 But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

0:38.2

Well, today we're going to look in the book of Isaiah, chapter 53, verse 7, at a place where

0:43.6

Isaiah is speaking about someone. And it kind of just comes up out of the blue in the middle of his

0:48.6

prophecy. He begins talking about someone who is kind of undefined. He doesn't say a name.

0:55.2

He doesn't say a time frame.

0:56.9

He just says,

0:57.6

this servant of God is going to show up.

1:00.6

And the people of his day would have been so curious who this is.

1:04.5

And over time,

1:05.3

they realized this is a prophecy.

1:07.4

This is about a man who's coming to deliver the people of Israel. So get out your

1:12.8

Bibles. We're going to look at Isaiah 53, verse 7 today. And we're going to look at this

1:17.7

fulfillment in Matthew 27, verses 13 and 14. But before we get there, I want to remind you,

1:24.1

if you are a parent and you would love to have some biblical guidance in how to

1:30.5

raise your children, my wife and I have produced a podcast called God-fearing kids and the parents

1:36.3

who raised them. Now, no doubt my wife and I were not perfect as parents, but we did strive to

1:42.0

parent our children and raise them according to the truth of God's word.
