Parts of this episode were recorded live at the first annual Asian podcast festival hosted by the Asian American podcasters association.

My grandpa passed away from COVID-19 in the summer of 2020.

It was the first close death I'd experienced since I began working professionally in the paranormal and supernatural field.

And as I've mentioned on the show before, being so immersed in these stories is what provided me comfort during that difficult time.

I hadn't had any significant supernatural experiences of my own at that point, which at the time I was fine with since honestly I was kind of scared.

But my grandpa's death changed that. I wanted so badly to reconnect with him. I welcomed his ghost.

So one day, in October of that year, I was at my altar, saying my morning prayers and having my daily conversation with him.

This had been my ritual since he died. I don't remember why, but for some reason, the reality of this loss had hit me harder than before.

So I said, Grandpa, if you can, could you make yourself known today? I could really use it.
