Hello and welcome to the Derek Hunter podcast for this Monday, November 10th of 2025.

I must be doing something right because Derek is kind enough to keep gently turning you over to me.

All of you out there in the audience are like his cats, and he's letting me house sit.

So I really do appreciate that.

We interrupt our program to bring you this important message.

I am re-recording the beginning of the episode I had prepared for all you fine people

because we had newsbreaking Sunday night, those incredibly inconsiderate senators,

rather than going ahead and ending this, which the Democrats could have done at any time,

by giving the Republicans the 60 votes they needed to end the shutdown. And some of them

were in favor of doing that, including John Fetterman. They decided they would suck as much political

juice out of that lemon as they could. And they would wait and wait until a Sunday night.

This is why Frank Sinatra, one of the greatest of all time as far as his death timing,

dies in the middle of the night on a, I think it's Tuesday, and passing away then the chairman

of the board, much better than, say, JFK Jr., who decided to fly his plane into the ocean

on a Memorial Day weekend, almost ruined the Memorial Day festivities

for a couple of friends of mine at the Fox News Channel at the time, but they managed to sneak

out of there.

You know you're not cut out for the news business, those people that live and die for the news,

when you decide you'd rather be down at the Jersey Shore drinking beer on the beach than sitting there covering a tragedy like somebody flying a plane in the ground with his wife and sister-in-law.

We are now at the end of the pantomime.
