The federal government will shut down at midnight unless Congress reaches a deal on funding.

The Senate is voting on two proposals, the House GOP's stopgap bill and a Democratic measure.

Both bills are expected to fail.

The GOP plan would keep the government open through November 21st without Democrats' demands

on health care.

Democrats are pushing to extend certain enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

President Donald Trump told reporters a shutdown is, quote, probably likely and also had this

warning.

We can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them, and irreversible
