So tonight, before we get started with the broadcast, everybody at Ground Zero wants to send their condolences

to the people of the Hawaiian Islands.

I know that there are specific places that are directly affected like Maui.

For tonight's show, I'm going to refer mostly just to Hawaii as a state, or as an area,

rather than specifically naming an area unless it needs to be named.

I know we have a lot of listeners listening tonight from Hawaii, of course, all around the world as well.

And anytime there's a tragedy of this sort with the wildfires, the hurricane, and the devastation,

whether it's natural or otherwise, people always come together and they help each other.

And it's a really great proof of the human soul or the human spirit that really animates these physical vessels that we call bodies.

But I need to also make an observation that I don't think is ever really made when we have something like this happen.

And that is there are natural disasters, or some might call them unnatural disasters, that happen all the time.

And they're happening in places where they're not really a disaster in the traditional sense,

because we don't have news cameras turned on them.

Those fires or floods or hurricanes don't affect our infrastructure, our homes, our businesses.
