Summary

Even before there were cloned dire wolf puppies earlier this year, an unusual discovery was made at the Skinwalker Ranch. While the story does not seem to be connected to dire wolf de-extinction, their investigation into the possibility of finding a "dire wolf" fossil may change what we know about the species. A few days ago, there was breaking news about the DNA results that came back for the wolf-like animal carcass they found in Dry Gulch Creek. The animal was 11% Eurasian/Greenland wolf and 89% unknown canid! According to the expert, it is either a new species or a species thought to be extinct. It is an enigma that has no genetic record anywhere. This means they have discovered a new species or a prehistoric one that has remained hidden.
