We use the idea of the multiverse as a prop to somehow comfort us into thinking there may be an overlap of quantum material that comes into existence and then somehow disappears, and collective memory becomes faulty. This is what we call the Mandela Effect. Most scholars who call the Mandela Effect the Quantum Effect say that this phenomenon began around 2012, which is the same time scientists at CERN discovered the God Particle or the Higgs-Boson.
