I did, and I didn't say much about it, but then there were a lot of things that were going on that were surrounding what I'm about to tell you that I felt like, hey, there's a story here.

We've got to connect the dots, get the puzzle pieces in place.

Okay, so it was a week after the Pope was elected.

Just after the Pope was elected to the papacy, Leo the 14th expressed his concern about rapidly advancing artificial intelligence.

In fact, it was so important to him that what he did is he included his worries, his concerns,

in his inaugural address to the College of Cardinals.

He said that the church would address the risks that artificial intelligence posed to human dignity, justice, and labor.

And in his first speech to journalists, he cited the immense potential of artificial intelligence

while warning that it requires responsibility to, quote, ensure that it can be used for the good

of all.

Okay, so I know it's far too early to say how Pope Leo will use his platform to address these concerns or whether he can have much effect.

But his focus on artificial intelligence demonstrates something very important.

It demonstrates that he's a Pope that it's concerned about modern issues and not just an old crumudgeon talking about the same old political clap trap.

All right. In fact, the same old political clap trap. All right.

In fact, the Pope's concerns about AI have actually surprised his colleagues because they are

curious as to why he's so vocal about the issue now.
