The presumed active ingredient, curcumin, has shown remarkable activity in tissue culture studies suggesting it could be beneficial against arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, cancer, diabetes, liver disease, lupus, inflammatory bowel disease, wounds, and many other conditions.
