Hello and welcome to the Political Party. This one features Professor Angela Wilson, Professor

0:19.9

of Politics at the University of Manchester and Chair of the Political Studies Association.

0:24.0

Well, this is an absolute corka. I've met Angela a couple of times and she is funny,

0:30.5

obviously exceptionally intelligent. And we talk about her current work on the strategies

0:36.8

of the Christian right, trying to predict the future I often do with her academic guests

0:42.8

and we talk about a million and one things in between. And on top of that, I noticed

0:48.8

that particularly when talking to academics and particularly talking to people who are

1:32.5

a leading global academic on a variety of social science and political areas. So this is

1:39.8

just a great, I mean, Jan Halper Hayes on a few episodes ago, who was pro Trump. I think

1:46.5

it's no exaggeration to say, Professor Wilson isn't, isn't pro Trump, but it talks about

1:51.5

our own politics in a very tactful way. And we don't really drill down into our own politics

1:58.2

in the sense of who she would support an election or where it on the political compasses.

2:03.8

But we certainly talk about her extensive work, really analyzing the, particularly the

2:10.8

Christian right in America. So this is, I mean, it's, I think we did slightly more than
