Hello and welcome to the political party. This episode features Jackie Smith, the former home secretary,

0:05.2

and the first ever female home secretary. I've been dying to get Jackie on the show for ages,

0:10.7

and she didn't disappoint. She is brilliant and it's funny, it's frank, it's very honest,

0:18.4

and give brilliant insight into what it's up to be home secretary. Now, as with I'm sure many of you

0:24.4

slightly fascinated by the security services, and I do try a couple of times to get a maybe

0:31.1

perhaps a bit more insight than we used to, how effective I am at trying to get Jackie Smith to

0:36.4

effectively spill state secrets. You will have to judge for yourself, but it's wide-ranging,

0:41.9

and I think crucially slightly different to recent interviews with other labour figures,

0:46.1

in that it's not, it doesn't major on the current direction of the labour party, it's far more about

0:51.6

Wednesday the 6th, with Baroness Saidavasi and Nick Clegg. There's about 10 tickets left for that,

1:11.6

if that, this morning, and then we've added an extra date on the 7th of December, which is Anna

1:17.3

Subri and Ken Livingston, and there are tickets left for that. You can get them on the Leicester Square

1:22.2

theatre website, that's where the gig is taking place. For next year, the guests are, as follows,

1:28.9

for the first three months, in January, Conservative MP James Cleveley, often tip to be a future leadership

1:35.3

contender, a very funny man, in February, I am delighted to announce that former labour leader Ed

1:40.8

Millerband will be on the show, and in March, potentially a future labour leader, one of the stars of

1:46.8

Jeremy Corbyn, Shadow Cabinet, the Shadow Education Secretary, Angela Reiner, more guest to be an

1:51.2

answer for the rest of the year. I think those three have already sold out, and there's only a handful of

1:55.4

tickets at the other palace for any of the dates until November. I know they go very quickly, and I know

2:02.5

people get annoyed, particularly regulars, that they can't get them, but I'm slightly powerless as
