Today's guest is Simon Hart, the former Chief Whip under Rishi Sunak and author of the new book Ungovernable.

And a book that contains incredible revelations about what went on in that final term, what it was like being Chief Whip under Rishi Sunak.

You will have seen some of the media coverage about some of the incredible things that Tory MPs and staffers were getting up to. We talk about those,

as well as the wider context about politics, the people it attracts, what it does to people,

how it can change, and just how difficult it is, and how difficult it is to get things done. But,

of course, it really focuses on those years, the fall of the of the Tories from that peak, really, under Boris Johnson, that 80-seat majority to then getting wiped out under a landslide.

It's a phenomenal inside account of what it was like to be at the centre of government then with all the problems, as he says, you know, as well as the scandals, the rebellions, the clans, the huddles, as he puts it in this interview.
