pharma broke American health care and what we can do to fix it. In the People's Pharmacy Health Headlines, people taking certain cardiovascular medications may be at higher risk of a heart attack during heat waves.

Yale researchers analyzed data from Augsburg, Germany between 2001 and 2014.

There were nearly 2,500 heart attacks during the warm weather months. Careful review of the cases showed that people taking beta blocker heart medicines or anti-clotting drugs such as aspirin were significantly more likely

to have a heart attack. If people were taking both types of medication, their risk of a

heat-related heart attack was 75% higher.

In a surprising observation,
