health. In the People's Pharmacy Health Headlines, one of Medicine's tools against COVID-19 now has infectious disease experts puzzled.

Paxlevid, a combination of two oral medicines, helps keep COVID patients out of the hospital.

Now though, there are numerous reports of rebound COVID following Paxilbid treatment.

Some people who take the drug feel better and may even test negative,

only to develop symptoms and sometimes a positive test result several days after

finishing the medication. This rebound phenomenon has not been extensively

studied and physicians do not know how to treat it. The manufacturer has suggested that people

experiencing rebound take another course of medication. However, both the FDA and the CDC disagree.

Instead, the agencies recommend that patients isolate themselves from others for five days

from the start of new symptoms and wear effective masks for at least 10 days,

just as if they had developed a new infection.
