discussion. Yesterday, Karen Fairbairn, Director General of the CBI, wrote about the air of resignation

surrounding the Brexit talks. And it is remarkable, even given COVID-19,

how little attention the talks are getting from MPs and the wider public. We do all

indeed seem resigned to accept whatever outcome the negotiators arrive at. To be clear, this debate

is not about Brexit. Brexit is done and dusted. It's a debate about whether we finally leave the EU ambit with a deal,

what sort of deal we get, and whether we have institutions in place

across the UK to ensure that environmental rules are upheld.

All this has huge implications for environmental law, farming in the countryside, marine
