I was a bit downcast yesterday by the apparent decision of Sir Kier Starrman not to engage in the youth

mobility scheme. You remember on his visit to Germany, one of the headlines was that they had

turned down or rejected the opportunity to join the youth mobility scheme.

So I did, because I'm a bit weird, I did consult some experts yesterday afternoon.

And the general consensus is among the people who really know what they're talking about.

And I see this reflected in some corners of the media this morning.

That this is how you negotiate.

So because the European Union,

the big actors in the European Union,

want us to engage in the youth mobility scheme,

because although it's obviously good for us,

it's also very good for them.

It gives us a little tiny bit of leverage
