Those who argue “yes” say admitting Ukraine would keep the country protected, affirm its sovereignty, and solidify alignment with the West. 0:18.0	Now, it's not an easy issue at all.
0:21.0	We've all watched the event unfold in Ukraine during the last year, or rather the last 500
0:27.0	days following Russia's invasion of Ukraine with absolute horror.
0:32.0	And most people around the world have a sense of aberration for the bravery of the
0:38.0	Ukrainians and a strong desire to see the war end.
0:43.0	But the question of how the war will end and what that means for the future of Ukraine
0:48.0	and the Western Alliance is very unresolved.
0:51.0	Just recently NATO met in Lithuania to discuss what was happening with the Alliance
0:57.0	and whether it's time to admit Ukraine or not in the future and it ended up with a pretty
1:02.0	inconclusive set of comments.
1:05.0	So today we're going to be talking about whether it is indeed time to admit Ukraine
1:10.0	in to NATO or not.
1:11.0	We have two fantastic people to take different dances on this crucial question and debate it.
1:18.0	On the one hand answering yes, NATO should admit Ukraine.
1:22.0	We have the founder of the Renewed Democracy Initiative and the former World
1:27.0	Chess Champion, Gary Kasparov.
1:29.0	And on the other side, saying no to the question should NATO admit Ukraine,
1:34.0	we have Senior Fellow at the Council of Foreign Relations and Professor of International Affairs
1:40.0	at Georgetown University, Charles Kuchan.
