should he pay for you on the first date or any dates

thereafter? Speaking of which, so here's the thing. The other day, I got a request on cora.com to answer

a question, and the question was, when did courtship become dating so dating actually hasn't been

around for that long and the dating scene has changed a lot over the last hundred years and i

almost passed on the question because i didn't know the answer, but I thought it was such an interesting

question that I decided to do some research on it and answer this person's question.

And so I read a few articles online, and what I found was that women and men didn't actually

start dating until the 1900s, so the early 1900s. And at that time, when women would

work, they would be paid less than half of what a man would be paid for the same jobs because

it was considered that they were working to supplement their father's income, not actually for

themselves. I know it's fucked up. So that is why it was normal for men to treat them when they went out.

But the history of dating is actually really interesting. So when men and women wanted to get married or find a partner,

the way that it worked is that their families set them up and you would only ever meet the guy

that you were interested in or seeing if you were interested in him with your family or at social

events. And so then this new thing emerged where women were going

unsupervised on dates. They were called dates because it was like somebody's filling your dates on

the calendar. And women would go unsupervised with men to the movies or for dinner or lunch or whatever. And it's actually

really crazy to think about the sacrifices that women had to make back then so that we could

have the freedoms that we have now. So back then, women were actually arrested for going on

dates because there were prostitutes that
