Hello and welcome to this week's episode of what most people think and I know that you probably like me are experiencing Tory party fever. When it hits you, it hits hard. And I know that my guest today, Rialina, she's been, I heard that you couldn't sleep on Saturday night because you knew the Tory party conference was starting on Sunday and you've just been losing yourself in all of it. Do you know what I was most excited for the goodie bag? I was up all night. Oh, yeah. So you sent me this on Instagram.

0:38.8

So the Tory party had a goody bag.

0:40.3

This is the way that I guess political parties try and get in social media feeds and get people talking.

0:45.5

But I understand one of the products wasn't quite what it should have been.

0:49.7

So there were three things in it.

0:51.0

One was a fake Rachel Reeves resume playing on her own fake resume.

0:57.5

It was just blank, right? It was just, there was nothing on it. It was a fake CV for Rachel

1:01.4

Reeves. The blank thing was the Reform Party manifesto. Okay. And then there was a chocolate bar upon which

1:07.6

they had spelt Britain incorrectly. They said if Labor's in charge, then Britain

1:12.0

will get nowhere. I should get the exact quote. I think the key thing is that they spelled it wrong,

1:16.1

but then Labor could say, well, you know, that country that you're talking about, maybe will be bad,

1:21.0

but correctly spelled Britain might be. I mean, you've just got to spell Britain right, haven't you?

1:25.0

I mean, especially after Rishi came back early from the D-Day celebrations, this is, you know, just potentially for their critics, another sign that the Tories don't love Britain, or that some advisor somewhere, I mean, how do you not have spell check at the moment? Everything has assistance, doesn't it? When you type anything, there's a computer asking you whether you mean this or whether you meant to spell it like that. Do you know, it probably put a little red squiggly line under it when they were designing it and they thought it was patriotic and left it? Well, I do not believe the Tory Party hate Britain because they spoke it wrong. I do believe that someone somewhere needs to be fired for spelling it wrong. I think it shows inclusivity. I think that they were being inclusive in the Tory party.

2:06.1

You know, a lot of people struggle. To the dyslexic community? Yeah. Well, just generally, you know,

2:11.7

maybe it was someone with ADHD who struggled with attention span, you know.

2:15.2

Look, it is a very cis male heteronormative post-colonial imperialist way to look at the world to say that we have to spell countries' names correctly. I actually think that's quite toxic, so fair play to the toys. I mean, if you take over it, you get to spell it however you want. Well, listen, we're going to talk about there was a poll. There was a poll by Sky News about Tory members and who they thought would be in charge

2:37.5

at the next election.

2:38.5

It turns that half of them think that Kemi won't be there.

2:41.0

They also had other views on whether or not the party should enter into coalition with reform.
