0:13.5	Dear Pastor John, hello and thank you for the Pastor John podcast.
0:16.2	My question is personal, a very close friend of mine who has historically been strong in
0:21.1	his Christian faith has recently embraced a pop theology in which God has no wrath and
0:26.8	there's no health for anyone.
0:28.9	My friend now argues that the vengeful God of the Old Testament was a Jewish myth, not
0:33.1	the real God who is only found in Jesus.
0:38.0	To him Jesus died mainly to demonstrate God's patience with sinners.
0:42.8	He now denies penal substitutionary atonement.
0:46.7	In all these things I have shown him his error from Scripture, but he will have none of it.
0:52.7	Because he continues to claim to be a Christian, I have begun to treat him in accordance
0:55.6	with 2 Thessalonians 3 verses 14 to 15, not hanging out like we used to.
