Today we will be in Romans 15 starting verse 22 and among other things we're going to cover the passage

That has caused some churches I'm not kidding to tie 10% of their budget to the state of Israel.

I'm not kidding.

In fact, when I was in the School of Ministry

over at Calvary Costa Mesa,

we actually had a pastor, a Calvary pastor who came and shared,

he was a guest just to share kind of his experience in ministry and he decided to share with

us all that we should be giving 10% of our church budgets to Israel, the state.

And I remember kind of that looks around the room,

as we looked around the room like,

that's an interesting concept.

Like I never thought about that before.. Churches tithing to a government,

not only, it's not even taxes, you're not even part of that government.

And so it was interesting thoughts, but this is the passage where this idea comes from.

Now it's a very small minority of churches that do this,

very, very small, but I think it's worth looking at the passage

and understanding why.

And I'll be honest with you.

There's other topics we'll talk about today.

There's several. but there isn't one

topic in this passage and I personally lack the ability to do a verse by verse study

where there's always one topic I mean how do I take this chunk of verses and force it to have one topic?
