Ah, the weather is changing. It is getting colder here in the in the woods of Minnesota and the leaves are falling and

wind is blowing it's it's that time of year and we're getting ready for winter here up in the in the north. Not as many people walking

around the lake as I look out at it. In fact a lot of the geese are gone and things

are settling down a little bit, that time of preparation.

You go outside and rake the leaves and it's getting cold and it might go in for a little hot toddy, or maybe not. That's what we're going to talk about today on the

Jeff Kavin show. We're going to talk about should Christians drink and as I was preparing for this show and I was sharing some of the ideas with some of my friends

They they responded in a couple of ways one was I've always wondered about that. You know what does the Bible say about about drinking and in others where oh here it here it comes

Well, we're going to talk about both aspects. We're going to talk about the positive aspects from

the Bible when it comes to drinking, whether it's wine or strong drink. We're also going to talk

about the warnings, which as I look through the Bible I see,

some very serious warnings. This is not a show of judgment. This is a show of encouragement and possibly warning in your life.

I started thinking about this a few years ago and it really was precipitated by something that went on at a men's

conference years ago. I was speaking at a men's conference and there were probably, I

don't know, four or five men that were speaking at the

conference and there was about 1500 men attending the conference and after the conference

wound up at the end of the day all the speakers got together with a bunch of

organizers and they they met and they had a bit of a bar laid out there and I

walked in and they said well what do you have to drink cave-ins and I said well can I have some sparkling water?

I just felt like having some sparkling water that night and and immediately I had two or three guys say oh come on
