Welcome back to the Dirt Show.

I generally don't wear a t-shirt when I'm broadcasting,

but I got this t-shirt recently from Fire,

this great organization that has replaced

the ACLU in defending free speech.

And the t-shirt says, free speech makes free people.

And I wear it around Martha's Vineyard every day

because they really, really need to know that lesson.

Any event, Fire is a great organization,

and it's necessary to prevent the kind of censorship

we're hearing today predominantly from the left,

but obviously from the extreme right as well.

So today's show was stimulated really by a couple of things.

A conversation I had with my son, Yvlon,

and also a letter, one of the letters I got today.

I'll read you the letter first.

It says, having lived through the turbulent Watergate era,

I hope that the president, regardless of party,

would in the case of conviction issue a pardon

for the good of the nation.
