Summary

On June 4, 2019, longtime friends Carnell Sledge and Katherine Brown were out walking at the Rocky River Reservation in Ohio. They had sat down on a bench along the river when they were suddenly shot dead. The shooting was so random and unexplainable that many figure it was a hate crime, as the two could have appeared as a mixed-race couple. The case still remains unsolved to this day.

Tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Cuyahoga County at (216) 252-7463 or at www.25crime.com

Hello everyone and welcome back to True Crime with Kendall Ray. Thank you so much for joining me today. And if you are new, then welcome. So happy to have you. So guys, today's case is actually one that I had seen on Unsolved Mysteries, which I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with Unsolved Mysteries.

0:22.4

It's a very popular show on Netflix.

0:24.3

And I always really enjoy it.

0:26.0

I think they do a great job of delivering ethical, helpful coverage.

0:31.6

However, they are limited in their time.

0:34.3

And I always like to do my own research on the cases that they cover because

0:38.5

they often leave out quite a bit. So I've done quite a few episodes on my other podcast Mile

0:45.7

higher covering Unsolved Mysterious cases and then just going in, you know, way deeper and

0:50.8

bringing up a ton of points they miss or information that's missed.

0:57.1

And again, no hate to them because I really think they do a great job.

1:02.3

They most of the time, I think all of the time, include families in their coverage, which I think is excellent.

1:03.6

But yes, today we're going to be talking about a case that is just so shocking because it's hard to explain, but I think this case, I just don't

1:16.6

understand how it wasn't solved. And when I say that, I mean, I think it should have been

1:21.5

solved by now. It's so confusing. It makes no sense how someone was able to get away with this. But I still have hope that

1:29.7

there will one day be justice for these two victims. And I really think they are on the edge of

1:36.0

potentially getting this case solved. They just need, you know, more people to know about it,

1:40.2

more push, hopefully someone to come forward with that tip that just you know sends

1:44.8

them over the edge towards justice we're going to be talking about the unsolved

1:48.8

murders of carnell sledge and kate brown as of right now their families are really calling for

1:54.5

more coverage they really need more people to know about this case and up until recently when it was

1:59.3

covered on unsolved mysteries,

2:01.6

it was not a very well-known case. The reality is Carnell and Kate's families have now gone
