Hello, lovely listeners. I am your host, Heather, and I am beyond excited today to do this coaching call with you. I was very excited

0:25.3

to bring Amanda back on the show for a follow-up from one year ago. She was originally in

0:32.3

episode 649, so almost exactly 100 episodes ago from today. And in that, I asked her to do something

0:40.2

extremely difficult. I asked her to maintain her weight for a year. She had done a fantastic

0:48.9

job of losing weight again after many losing and regaining, losing and regaining, losing and regaining,

0:58.5

losing and regaining. She had never actually been able, this was her fourth time losing

1:04.1

a hundred pounds. She had never been able to keep it off. She was really good at losing it,

1:08.8

which I hear this all the time, right? We're really good at

1:11.5

losing it. And even now with weight loss medications, we can be really good at losing weight. But

1:17.1

unless you're going to stay on the weight loss medication to keep it off, which I know a lot of people

1:20.5

are not wanting to do for various reasons, the regain part of this is so pervasive, right? That's the thing we need to be working on. That's the thing we need to be thinking about. She wasn't going to be thrilled with this option. I was throwing her way.

1:45.1

But she took it.

1:46.3

She said, okay, I'll do this thing. And then I was going to follow up with her in a year. I actually put on my Google calendar because I didn't want to forget. And it popped up in my Google calendar. Reach out to Amanda. It's been a year. And I reached out. She's like, I wondered if you were going to contact me.

2:01.6

And she, sure enough, had done the thing. and I reached out, she's like, I wondered if you were going to contact me.

2:08.2

And she, sure enough, had done the thing, but it was an amazing discussion.

2:14.8

You do not want to miss this because after this year, so many things happened to her in this year that were some things she couldn't have even foresaw

2:18.4

coming, some medical issues, things like that. But because she was focusing on this idea of

2:23.1

maintaining her weight, she had a totally different perspective. She saw how her lower brain

2:28.5

really flared up and then quieted down and how her relationship with food changed. And you really want to hear

2:35.7

this because so many people feel like the maintenance phase is difficult. They avoid it at all
