Summary

Episode Description Your body isn't betraying you. It's been trying to reach you for years — and it's been screaming because you stopped listening. Ashleigh Di Lello is a brain coach and creator of Bio Emotional Healing — but she didn't arrive here through academia. She arrived through four years of fighting for her life as a teenager, a failed surgery that stole her Broadway career and her ability to walk, nerve pain in nearly ten areas of her body, and a night on her bedroom floor when she finally ran out of ways to keep trying. What she built from that breaking point is one of the most embodied frameworks for chronic pain and nervous system healing Dr. G has come across — because she didn't just study it. She became her own guinea pig and got her life back. In this episode, you'll discover:  • Why the brain creates pain as a protective mechanism — and how your life experiences, not just your injuries, determine where and how intensely you feel it  • Why people who do everything right — the protocols, the diets, the biohacking — still can't heal, and what's actually missing from the equation  • How to begin rebuilding trust with a body you've been at war with, and why compassion isn't just emotional — it's neurobiologically required for your brain to change If you've been told your scans are clear but the pain is very real, or you've tried everything and still feel stuck — this episode is the missing piece. And then everything was taken again. And honestly, this is when I had the worst, most desperate

0:31.9

moment of my life. Pain is the number one protective mechanism in the nervous system. For so long we thought pain was only an indication of something wrong in the body.

And now we know through neuroimaging and studies that something wrong,

like a damage, an injury, tissue, cancer, virus,

0:49.3

those are only one of the components that caused the brain to create pain.

All of the doctors and experts had told me

is, along with these chronic pain diagnoses, was, well, your nervous system flipped a switch into pain.

And so that night, I thought, well, I'm going to figure out how to flip it back. And the very next

1:04.7

morning, I started studying neuroscience because I knew the brain is the creator of all pain. And I

knew that my life's work was to create this process, not just for me, but for other patients.

So I became my own Gini Pig and got my life back and eight years later I've been helping clients do the same.
