Summary

This is the third and final part in my series I have been doing with our daughter Brittney, whose first baby was born sleeping.  We've been looking forward to this podcast because we get to tell the amazing, redemptive story of her last birth! We spend some time talking about her struggles throughout the pregnancy as she felt God's constant nudging to move toward a VBAC. It was a continual decision to yield and trust, following a path that seemed to meander endlessly! The ways that He chooses to redeem and heal are truly His ways and often feel messy and uncomfortable. But the joy that comes from walking in obedience to God pales in comparison to trying to figure out things on our own. Something Brittney wanted me to share from her journal that she wrote during this pregnancy: "My energy is better spent embracing what God is putting in front of me right now instead of worrying about all the possibilities of tomorrow's storm."  That's good for so many areas of our lives! Listen in as we share this God story! Hey, moms, welcome to this week's podcast. I'm Durenda, your host. I'm also a wife to Daryl for 30 years and homeschooling mom to eight kids ages 15 to 28 and I also happen to be

0:23.7

a nana to six. So before I dive in here, I want to let you know that I have several speaking

0:31.1

engagements in 2020. I'll include a link in the podcast notes because I would love to meet you

0:36.8

if you happen to live in any of the places that I will be visiting.

0:41.3

But today, our oldest daughter, Brittany, is here joining me.

We've been looking forward to this podcast, haven't we?

0:49.1

Yes.

0:49.2

Yes.

0:50.1

Because, you know, if you've been listening to the other podcasts, we've done two others previous to this,

0:55.8

sharing the story of Isaac, losing our grandson, Brittany's oldest child to still birth six years ago

1:04.4

and just sort of the process that we've gone through, the grieving, the healing, the redemption,

1:10.0

and just seeing God's hand and

1:11.6

his fingerprints all over it. If you haven't had a chance to listen to those, I encourage you to go

1:15.4

back and listen because it's not just about walking through stillbirth. It's about trusting in a

1:20.7

God who meets us in the most difficult circumstances in the darkest places. There just is no

1:27.2

place that we can go that he

1:29.9

can't meet us there. And that is one thing, I was one of our big takeaways from that experience.

1:35.4

But today we're going to be sharing the amazing redemptive experience of Brittany's recent birth

1:43.0

with Will, who is now four months old. So we are excited

1:46.8

about this story. So if you love a good birth story, this is where you want to be today,

1:51.0

okay? Because everyone loves a great birth story. And I can tell you today, you're not going to be

1:55.8

disappointed. But we want to give you just a little bit more of the backstory before we tell
