Sharing the gospel in the midst of hostility.

Boy, this is fresh in my mind.

It's going back to our trip to Turkey, Greece, and Rome,

in particular thinking about Turkey.

Yeah.

Were you guys nervous to share the gospel in Turkey?

Were we nervous?

Yeah.

I was most reticent in Turkey.

And especially because our guides told us,

hey, you do have to be careful here. So it's a Muslim country? Yeah, it's Muslim, 99% Muslim, but also

secular. You think of the apostles standing before the Jewish council and they're telling them

not to preach anymore in the name of Jesus.

And were they nervous? Man, of course. I mean, these guys are beating them. They're imprisoning

them. They're locking them up. They're stoning. Stoning them. And what do they say? Whether it's right

to obey man rather than God you be the judges I mean

you know and it's like no we'd rather obey God than man and you think of you

think of what they did after that they went away rejoicing that they were counted

worthy to suffer shame for his name right Ray, how do we square with that?

Like what is it that gives a believer that kind of focus? Is that where you just shoot a guy

and watch the smoke out of it? When they're like feeling still the smart of the, the canes

against their body, you know? I don't just look to Jesus on the cross. Father, forgive them.. They know what they do. I was thinking, we're looking at the fact we live in a hostile world and we really do. And people are hostile. You can see it in road rage, etc. But when you bring the things of God up, it's like pouring gasoline on a flame that's already lit. It's in the heart of man.
