So I'm the disciplinarian in my family, but, you know, I'll walk into a room and I'll tell the kids

everything they haven't done right or I'll come in and I'll point out the one thing that they

didn't finish yet. Like that's, that's been my role historically. And we were on a plane

getting off in Mexico and Sophie had the passports with, or actually each person had their own

passport. Sophie was sitting with Kai, my oldest, and they were about to walk off the plane,

the way I saw it, they were about to walk off the plane and they didn't have the passport.

She had texted me. Nobody was letting me back on the plane because I had gotten off and it's

international flight and whatever the regulations are in Mexico. So I couldn't get back on the plane. Sophie, my little daughter and Kai are on the plane and the passport is missing. And now our entire vacation in my head I'm already going to, now our entire vacation is going to the embassy and finding out a new path. Like that's where my head was already going and it's just been 35 seconds, you know, a minute and a half. And I'm already there. So I'm angry. Sophie's there inside. We're kind of half fighting across the threshold of the plane. Nobody knows where the thing is. And the thing that I was most angry about, if I'm honest, was two hours earlier I found halfway through the flight that they didn't have the passport.

And so I said to Kai, to my boy, I said, okay, well, you think it's on that seat, go find the

passport two hours earlier. And then I left. So I was upset that two hours later, they hadn't even

searched for the passport until like the last, the thing landed and now we're in this place

it was one of the worst fights we probably had in six months to a year we're like yelling at each other

in the airport it was not good it was not good at all and it was a clear show of the different styles

in how we do things eventually they found the passport before they got

off the plane. It was in a different seat pocket. So everything was good, but I'm still seething.

Everything is good now. The passport is found, but I'm still angry, hurt that nobody paid attention

to what I said to do two hours earlier, trying to reprimand my son.

And my part was I could have let it go. We're good now. I could have decided to take another

opportunity to say, hey, you need to hold on your passports really. Like I could have not escalated

the situation in the moment. But I couldn't let it go. Could not let it go. It took a day, a full day,

literally 24 hours before we were able. My wife and I were able to talk about it before I could

really talk about it, to be perfectly honest. And what came up for me was I grew up without a dad,
