We got a long ways to go in a short time to get there.

I'm actually going to talk a little bit about parenting today, about shaping the next generation.

But I don't want those of you who are not parents or those of you who are single.

I don't want you to fall asleep on me because everybody is related to somebody's family.

And all of us, in a very real sense, are parents.

In the broader sense, all of us influence somebody.

All of us shape and influence future generations.

And so it's critically important for us to understand what this whole issue is all about and how do we how do we pour ourselves into shaping the next generation. I want to show you a picture. We've got four children and 11 grandchildren and their spouses and we went on a cruise, the beginning of, well, the end of

2024 and it bled over into 2025. And let's just say that cruise ship will never be the same.

But is that picture up there yet? Oh, yeah.

There they are.

There they are.

The joy of our lives.

They are an absolute, absolute, wonderful, wonderful blessing.

But before we hop into the word, let's just bow our heads for a word of prayer.

Holy Father, we thank you for your grace and your mercy. Thank you for your strength. Thank you for

what you've done in our hearts and lives. And God, I'm very much aware of the fact that when

the word family comes to mind or parenting comes a mind. Often it triggers guilt.

It triggers inadequacy.

It triggers memories that are not so fond.
