What a privilege to get to be here. And carrying this message in this season, this new book, Blessed

or the Spiriling, which I was in worship just overcome because of the connection to this

church, specifically and this message.

I was only days from the finishing of the rough draft of

this book in 23 in April when I came right after Easter to a conference that your pastors had put on

called speak, where pastors from around the world were invited in to Passion City Church to talk

around the heart and the art

of preaching. And pastor had always had that in his heart to put that conference on, and I had the

joy of coming to be a part of it. And during one of Louis sessions, my phone kept blowing up over and

over again from my dad. And he was calling, and I, of course, was in church. So I was

like, and then the call again and the call again. And then after like the third time I knew,

this is something's going on. So I snuck out of the room and made my way over to Bloom. There

wasn't any kids in the gathering. So I was just walking the halls and I found a door that was open and found myself

in a room where diapers are stored. And there, on the phone with my dad, with his obvious emotion

in his voice, he told me that he had just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that the doctors

were telling him it was terminal. And so, of course, all of the emotion that that brings.

And it was one year almost to the day from that phone call, April of 2024,

that he went home to be with Jesus over the Easter weekend.

And I had already decided that the book was going to be dedicated
