So Donald Trump makes history by being the first president to be impeached twice.

He has been impeached twice in the space of 13 months, which raises the question of

those of us who thought that the first impeachment was

politically and practically unsound, I think, have a certain justification now because the

the first impeachment, if this impeachment had been the first impeachment, obviously, I think

it would have been a little harder for Republicans to say, oh, this is just political,

or for his defenders say this is just political. And I have to say that also in the course of the

debate yesterday on the House floor, since, of course, everybody wants to get up and get there

30 seconds or one minute to give a little parareration. A lot of Democrats gave the game away

by praising themselves for having introduced articles of impeachment in 2017, or in, you know,

in, I can't remember who it was, maybe it was Steve Cohen of Tennessee saying, hey, I wanted to

impeach him in 2017, which is actually the opposite, the message that should be the opposite of anybody

who actually looks at this and says what happened on January 6th is itself an isolation from everything

else that has gone on in his presidency, the reason that he needed to be impeached and removed
