On today's show, we are breaking down the hiring of Frank Reich as offensive coordinator.

News broke on Wednesday that the Jets have filled the vacant position on Aaron Glenn's coaching staff.

It is the veteran coach Frank Reich. We'll talk about why this move makes sense.

We'll talk about why it still may not be enough to bring success for the Jets.

And we'll talk about some free agents who have ties to Frank Reich, who now could be in play

for the Jets as we move into the off season. Let's begin by talking about the positives

here. I think that of the coaches who were available to the Jets, and you have to remember, it was a

limited list. This is not an attractive job right now. As you probably know, the Jets do not have a

great reputation across the NFL. A lot of that has to do with

ownership. This team has not been a winning franchise. It's generally now viewed as a place

where you are going to have a tough time succeeding as a head coach. So with the limited candidates

available to the Jets, I think the type of coach he had to go for was somebody like Reich,

somebody with an established track record in the league, but maybe whose stock is not super high

right now. I'll tell you one thing I really like about this higher. It's the rare time where

the Jets bring in someone to run their offense who actually has a history of success running

offenses in this league. I went back 20 years, and there were 10 people the Jets hired to run
