Hi everyone, it's Sally and Claytime. This is part two of a heartfelt discipline and I hope

0:44.3

you're enjoying our talk so far. We talked about yesterday about how we came to realize that the

0:51.4

foundation of the positive influence in the heart of our children by using the model of Christ was

0:58.2

relational. That Christ said greater love has no one than this than a man lay down his life for

1:04.6

his friend and that the way that he really implemented his influence and the lives of its disciples,

1:10.6

he walked with him. He was doing the Diderotomy thing morning, noon and night. He fed them. He

1:17.2

stayed in their homes. He taught and instructed them. And the last supper is such a beautiful picture

1:24.3

of washing their feet and affirming them. Peter, you're the rock, Thomas, you're a man in him,

1:29.2

1:44.0

thinking, thank goodness, I was thinking about this thing called first time obedience and someone

1:48.8

said if you don't teach them to obey the first time, obviously our goal is to help our children to

1:52.6

want to obey us as quickly as possible. But sometimes instead of being disciplined, children need to

1:59.4

be put to bed because they've stayed up too long or they've missed their nap or they've had a

2:03.2

whole afternoon of overstimulation with children or sugar or whatever. And I started thinking

2:09.8

God doesn't confront me with every single sin that I have at once. He kind of convicts me that I

2:17.2

was selfish in this way and then I'll read a verse and I'll think about it and I'll pray about it

2:20.9

and then I'll grow and then maybe I will down the line I'll be convicted of another part of my sin.
