san francisco police making the biggest single cold case break in department history, charging a community

activist in four separate murders spanning two decades. Forty-year-old Shontek Harris is charged

with four counts of murder and other charges. Harris, along with 48-year-old Sean Britton,

are accused of killing Perry Bradstreet on January 18, 2002. Police say Bradstreet was robbed,

carjacked, and shot as he ran away.

The suspects are accused of then setting his car on fire.

Then, a month later, police say Harris killed a man named Lorenzo Richards, and in July of 2002,

police say he killed witness Gerald White to prevent his testimony in the Bradstreet murder case.

The fourth charge stems from the August 10th, 2019 shooting of Dietrich Whitley at a community

center block party.

The case was dropped on self-defense grounds only to be refiled now.

It's not clear what new evidence prosecutors dug up to bring charges in the cold cases.
