Today on The Girl Defined Show, I have the privilege and honor of chatting with Dr. Rosaria Butterfield,

as she shares her testimony of going from an English professor at Syracuse University,

specializing in queer theory, lobbying for LGBTQ plus groups was in a committed lesbian relationship

to being confronted with the beauty and power and truth of the gospel, and how her life was

completely transformed. Hey sisterhood, it is Kristen here, and I am so glad that you're joining

me for this conversation today with Dr. Rosaria Butterfield, which by the way, before

our interview started, she said I could just call her Rosaria, so we're going to go without

for the rest of this conversation. But you guys, if you don't know her testimony, it is incredible.

It is so powerful the way the gospel transformed her heart and her life. I mean, it is some of the

things that just stood out to me from the conversation you're about to hear. She read the Bible seven

times through with kind of an English professor mindset, trying to find flaws in the word, trying to

really discount the Bible. She thought Christians were stupid and dumb, and she shares kind of her

thoughts before she became a Christian. She was in a committed lesbian relationship, lobbying for

LGBTQ plus groups. That was her community. She had actually, she wrote, helped write the Syracuse

University's policy for same sex couples, and it's just amazing the journey that God took her on.

Through one of the huge things was a pastor who came alongside her and loved her with his wife

and ministered to her and just showed her the most incredible hospitality, which is actually what

one of her books is all about. You'll hear about that. But this is an amazing conversation. She

does not shy away from getting into the nitty-gritty. She shares raw and honest parts of her story.

She shares some of the really hard and challenging parts after her conversion of being a Christian

embracing this new identity and what that looked like for her personal relationships for the lesbian
