In this powerful episode, Alex and Lokelani dive deep into Song of Solomon chapter 7 to explore one of the most important yet often avoided topics in the church: sexual brokenness and God's path to healing.

What We Cover:

* How God re-describes us vs. how sin defines us

* The difference between "falls" and "flights" in our spiritual journey

* Biblical sexuality within marriage - treasures "new and old"

* Why our desires need to be rewired by God's love

* Personal testimonies of healing from sexual trauma

* The cross as the ultimate source of healing from sexual brokenness

Key Takeaway: Jesus was broken so that we could be healed. No matter what sexual brokenness you've experienced - whether from your own choices or at the hands of others - true healing comes only through the cross of Christ.

This is the second-to-last episode in our Song of Solomon series before we return to Matthew. We believe this message will bring hope and healing to many who have been carrying shame in silence.

What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to the podcast. We are two episodes out from the end of Song of Solomon. Then it's back to Matthew. Very excited to get back into the Gospels. When you're preaching through the Gospels, you're kind of like, this is the stuff that church to talk about every Sunday for, you know, as long as I can remember. So we should do something else. And then it's for me personally, as a preacher or pastor, as soon as you get out of the gospels, you're like,

0:27.3

I want to go back to the gospels. And just, Jesus has a way of just touching on every aspect of

0:32.4

the entire Bible. And so, yeah, I'm excited to get back into that. But today we're talking about something very,

0:39.4

very important and we've already alluded to this many times and you're probably been helped in

0:45.5

this area with this series through Song of Salamis, but we want to dedicate an episode strictly

0:51.0

about sexual brokenness because that's what chapter seven is about and even parts of

0:56.5

chapter eight as well our last chapter when we talk about sexual brokenness we have to understand

1:01.8

that god has designed our bodies and he isn't embarrassed to talk about sexuality unlike some of

1:09.4

those allegorical commentators out there who look at Song of Solomon

1:12.9

and say, we need to forget that we have bodies. I love Matthew Henry. He's one of the best

1:17.9

commentators out there, but in his commentary, he says we should forget that we have bodies and just

1:24.8

focus on Christ in the church when we look at Solomon and

1:28.6

the Shulamite woman. While that is important, it's not the only thing Solomon is about. It's also

1:33.5

about Christ in the church. It's also about marriage. It's also about sexuality. It's also about

1:39.2

intimacy. All these things that our hearts are longing for, even if you are single, don't forget,

1:44.6

Jesus was in a way single. Yes, he's married to the church. He's the groom, but Paul also single.

1:51.8

Those are two very, you know, physically they weren't married, very fulfilled men, Jesus being the most

1:58.5

fulfilled human to ever live, but they're both fulfilled men,

2:02.2

and they had a beautiful single life before the Lord. You can have that as well. That doesn't

2:07.3

mean you won't want intimacy or you won't experience sexual brokenness. And so this is going to be

2:13.1

helpful for all people, even if you're already married and you're experiencing, we're not intimate the way
