When you lose someone that meant the world to you, how do you move on? How do you handle

it? Most of us can readily recall the unsteady feelings when someone we greatly admired

passed from this life into the next. Today, on Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall describes

an historic transfer of power. He's beginning a brand new teaching series about Joshua, who

followed a very popular leader. Imagine the pressure on Joshua to meet expectations. Chuck

We stand on your word, our Father, and apart from it, we have no other final authority. Thank

you for revealing your truth, whether in the ancient book of Joshua or another book of

the New Testament, wherever your word is opened, it speaks to us, and often speaks volumes

to us. So many today are hurting and in pain. Some deathly ill. We pray for all of them.

We ask that you, the great healer, will be near and dear to them. Should it be your will to

give them recovery? May they rejoice in your provision? Should it be your will to take them?

May there be an acceptance on the part of their loved ones as you were having your will?

Thank you for the reminder that as you were with Moses, you would be with Joshua. And for us,

as you were with Joshua, you will be with us. Our journeys are different. Our path leads in

different directions to different destinations, but you are the same. You guide us in the way we

should go. May we be willing to follow your lead. We commit to you today, our Father, those who

represent you in difficult places. There are those who serve you as missionaries. There are some

who protect us and our liberty as soldiers and sailors and marine and Coast Guard.

We pray that you will watch over them as they do their work faithfully and often behind the

scenes without attention, without recognition. Encourage their families who are away from them,

bring them safely back. Speak to us today from your word.
