with the NBA playoffs almost in the rear view mirror. I have a suspicion that they will be as of about 8 p.m. Pacific time on Monday.

I want to bring on Seth Pertnott to take stock of these playoffs and what we've learned from them.

Some of the trends that we're seeing why I'm such an idiot about the Denver Nuggets all those things I think will be ample fodder for us.

Seth's also going to talk more about sports business classroom give you some insight into the scouting video and analytics program that he's helped to develop with Dave Dufour and Dan Purcell. How are you doing buddy?

I'm doing pretty well. I think you're bringing too hard on yourself about the Nuggets because if we were doing this last year we'd be talking about why I was such an idiot about the Golden State Warriors.

You do this, you have opinions, you have good reasons for your opinions and a lot of times you're just wrong because a coin flip lands the way it flits lands.

Yeah, although I wouldn't, I guess that's a good place to start on this. Is this Nuggets postseason run the case of a coin flip landing the way it lands because they've dominated.

This isn't the case of them being one of just any of these teams could have won it type of thing because yeah they haven't faced on paper incredible competition but they've dominated that competition.

Every titleist that's ever won has has had good luck to win. In the case of Denver it's a little subtle they've been healthy. They've been have has any of their meaningful players missed a game this postseason. I don't think so.

Yeah, they had a little bit of Jamal Murray was dealing with some illness at the end of the Phoenix series beginning of the Lakers. I think there's something that was going through their whole team but yeah no no significant player has missed a game.

I think really even that Yokech ankle tweak was probably the first even like small injury that I recall anybody on that team suffering.

I think Murray may have tweaked an ankle at some point early in the playoff as well but it was again one of those lace lace it up and and we're good to go kind of thing.

But that's so they they've done that they've they've I think I certainly agree with you they've been over the course of the postseason the best team start to back.

They've also have been fortunate in the matchups they've had have been relatively kind to them in so far as we know that that at this point I think we can certainly argue whether or not you buy it or not that Nicola Yokech is the best player in the world.

That doesn't mean that he is the the Swiss Army knife that solves all problems by himself there are matchups that are better or worse for him both offensively and defensively and I think that I think you would probably agree that's certainly in the last two rounds at least they've faced matchups that are even

even even to the extent the talent level might or might not be different the players he's matched up against the teams he's matched up against don't stress him in ways that we've seen him have problems in the past.

So that's you know that's a that's a you know you you can only beat who you who you've put in front of me who you've put in front of you but Denver has to be pretty happy with with who's been put in front of them there hasn't been a you know a spread picking role team with a dominant like off the dribble point guard to the extent there was it was Phoenix and they and they you know as you you point out

a lot there off the dribble pull up game was largely mid ranges rather than three and so that almost plays into the to you know Denver playing kind of a a Matthew approach to defense.

So they've those things have gotten their way and also you know if we're honest this was a season where Denver might be the best team but we're in a period that's sort of between dynastic you know organizational you know runs

there the best of that you know as the tide recedes there the highest point we can see a lot to unpack there I want to list them all so I don't miss it so there's the Nicole you know catch best player in the world there's them not facing a great spread

picking role teams and then there's also the idea that there isn't necessarily a dynasty let's start with the Nicole you know catch best player in the world I think that's I would agree with that at this point in part because the three players that I felt were his competition I did by top 10 players ranking

I did not have Yokech in the top three and obviously was wrong to do so usually do that about a month before the playoffs Steph Curry Kevin Durant Yannis and a couple were my top three and all three of those to varying levels disappointed in this post season run so the combination of that and also
