Do you want to give yourself a sweet little serotonin boost?

I think this is what we all want sometimes, right?

We want to feel good, we want to have that energetic shift

to feeling positive and loving and full of just energy and joy.

And I want to share something that I observed actually.

It was from a talk that I heard a while ago about ways that we can just boost serotonin naturally. And this is what I heard. When you

perform an act of kindness to somebody when you're generous when you do something

that doesn't benefit you directly but benefit someone else the giver of the

act of kindness receives the same if not more amount of

serotonin in their brain as the receiver. So if you are someone who is performing an act of kindness, you are in fact as much of a

recipient, if not more, of the serotonin boost from that act of kindness as the person who directly benefits.

But there's more.

Right, it doesn't even stop there.

Anyone who is an observer of that act of kindness

also receives the serotonin boost.

So imagine there's almost like three people that could even be more.

Someone is a giver of the act of kindness.

Someone is the receiver of the act of kindness.

Someone else is the observer of that act of kindness.

All three people receive the serotonin boost because of what that one giver does. It was likened in this talk to everyone almost

having like an antidepressant in that moment. And it reminds me of a quote that I heard recently.
