The U.S. government is releasing a flurry of data from September as it works through the backlog of economic reports put on ice during the shutdown.

In today's batch are retail spending, which rose a seasonally adjusted 0.2% from the month before, slightly less than economists had expected.

And in a separate report on prices, higher food, and energy costs lifted wholesale prices by 0.3%

in line with economist expectations. French authorities have detained four more people in connection

to the heist at the Louvre, including a man suspected of being the only thief who remained at large.

Investigators believe they have now tracked down the entire crew.

Three other people have already been charged with criminal conspiracy and organized theft.

There has been no word on whether investigators are any closer to tracking down the stolen jewels themselves.

And a new study found people with

obstructive sleep apnea that was untreated could have a greater risk of developing Parkinson's

disease. Researchers examined the medical records of more than 11 million military veterans

and found that participants with the sleep disorder were nearly twice as likely to have developed
