0:00.0	Today is day nine. I'm going to be reading Luke chapters four through six from the new living
0:06.0	translation and in your let's read the gospel's guided journal we are on page 67.
0:18.0	6. Luke 4. Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit returned from the Jordan River.
0:23.0	He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the Devil for 40 days.
0:28.0	Jesus ate nothing all that time and became very hungry.
0:32.0	Then the Devil said to him, if you are the son of
0:35.3	God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread. But Jesus told him, no, the
0:39.8	scriptures say people do not live by bread alone. Then the devil took him up and
0:44.8	revealed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. I will give
0:48.8	you the glory of these kingdoms and authority over them, the devil said,
0:52.0	because they are mine to give to anyone I please.
0:54.6	I will give it all to you if you will worship me.
0:58.3	Jesus replied the scripture say you must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.
1:03.0	Then the Devil took him to Jerusalem
1:05.0	to the highest point of the temple
1:07.0	and said,
1:08.0	if you are the son of God, jump off.
1:10.0	For the scriptures say,
1:11.0	he will order his angels to protect and guard you and they will hold you up with their hands
1:16.5	so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone. Jesus responded,
1:21.0	the scriptures also say you must not test the Lord or God.
1:25.2	When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.
