0:00.0	So today is day 8 and I'll be reading Luke chapters one through three from the new
0:07.2	living translation and in your let's read the gospel's guided journal we are

0:19.1	Many people have set out to write accounts
0:21.4	about the events that have been fulfilled among us.
0:24.1	They use the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples.
0:28.4	Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you most
0:34.3	honorable Theophilus so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were
0:38.3	taught. When Herod was King of Judea there was was a Jewish priest named Zechariah.
0:44.3	He was a member of the Priestly Order of Abaisea, and his wife, Elizabeth, was also from the
0:48.7	priestly line of Aaron.
0:50.4	Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous in God's eyes, careful to obey all the Lord's
0:54.5	Commandments and regulations. They had no children because Elizabeth was unable
0:58.8	to conceive and they were both very old. One day Zachariah was serving God in the temple for his order was on duty that
1:05.6	week as was the custom of the priests he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the
1:10.6	Lord and burn incense. While the incense was being burned, a
1:14.5	great crowd stood outside praying. While Zakariah was in the sanctuary, an angel
1:19.4	of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the incense altar.
1:23.0	Zachariah was shaken and overwhelmed with fear when he saw him.
1:27.0	But the angel said, don't be afraid, Zachariah.
1:30.0	God has heard your prayer.
