The Simple Handicap for Wednesday, September 22nd.

And it's only day three of the week.

But if the confusion and uncertainty continues at this rate,

I'm not too sure what I'm going to be talking about come Friday morning

because it was another day Tuesday of quarterback and

key player injury news. The two latest names to hit the quarterback injury rotation, Derek Carr

and Ben Rathesberger. Derek Carr is dealing with a lower body injury, which yet to be defined, but there's

uncertainty about his status. Gruden says that he is questionable and potentially limited at

best throughout the practice week. We'll see if that holds true through Friday, but it was

obviously limitations that were being made. But this was

already a game where the Raiders, which we'll touch on in the second, are playing the Miami Dolphins,

who also have injury concerns of their own. So we'll see how this starts to sort of line up and

ultimately play out. But that would be absolutely significant because Marcus Marriota is out with an injury,

which means we would be looking at a potential situation where it's Derek Carr down to Nathan

Peterman potentially playing Jacoby Brissette. So when it comes to evaluating the starter to the

backup, in this case, the third string,

when you're facing another backup, that one gets really, really messy.
