I don't think it was a great win because I think the Saints are absolutely positively wretched, particularly on defense. That's a bad football team on defense. But given the way week one went, so then you're saying the Pats couldn't have had a great win? Correct, because of the opponent. Yeah, because of the opponent. But given the way, I don't want to take away from the, you know, the Patriots per se,

I just have zero respect for the Saints. And I said this what, I don't know, a couple of months ago, I think I said to you, when they go into New Orleans, they'll put 60 up on New Orleans. They could have if they wanted to. I believe that. and if they were operating at full throttle, they would have scored 60.

Hell, they had have scored 60.

Hell, they had, Brady had 300 yards at halftime for crying out loud. They could have completely blown them right out of the building. New Orleans had no chance of stopping

them. Zero. But that said, you know, the defense to me still has some issues. I think this is

obviously going to be a little bit of a different season than we expected, at least in the early part of it. They're going to have to grow into some things. They're going to have to develop on defense, and we'll see how that goes. And ultimately, I think that that is going to determine their success. But after the way week one went, hell, I'll take it. Yeah, I thought it was a real good day for it.

Sure. Look, I mean, you know, you go out and you take command of the game early on. You get them chasing it. It couldn't have gone any better in terms of, I think the coaches had a much better week than they did in week one. To me, that was one of the big takeaways. I thought they were more prepared. they were more like themselves is a better way to put it instead of that nonsense that they were trying to execute in week one. So I was happy to see that. I think they got back to being who they are. And I just, you know, start with their response. And I don't know if you took that as an automatic that they would bounce back and respond. And it wasn't just winning. You know, it's not just that they won the week after what happened against Kansas City. It's how they looked and their emotional pitch and just how dialed in. I thought they were as a team on both sides of the ball. I think the defense was good. You know, I do. I don't know if they were great. But I thought they were good. I thought the defense was good. I thought the offense was brilliant. And it's just, it's so, you know, that response thing, right? We talked about it last week. Pretty much every great Patriots team, even when they have a bad loss, you almost see the immediate response, Mass. The immediate answer, whether it was the lawyer Malloy game in 2003 or the last Kansas City massacre in 2014.

I mean, we've just seen a lot of these.

And we've also seen, conversely, the few seasons where it's not right, it goes from bad to worse.

After they lost the fourth and two game in Indianapolis, they got their ass kicked down in New Orleans.

So, like, we've seen both sides of it.

And so I thought that first game back is important, just a little marker to show you what the investment level is and, you know, what we're dealing with here.
