0:00.0	Hi friends I'm Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the
0:13.3	parables, the read along in your own Bible or online and then I'll pray and that's it. So today is
0:25.2	day 13 and I'll be reading Luke 16 through 18 from the new living translation and
0:31.1	we are on page 91 of the Let's Read the Gospel's
0:35.1	guided journal. Luke 16 Jesus told this story to his disciples.
0:45.0	There was a certain rich man who had a manager handling his affairs.
0:49.0	One day a report came that the manager was wasting his employer's money.
0:53.0	So the employer called him in and said,
0:55.0	what's this I hear about you?
0:57.0	Get your report in order because you are going to be fired.
1:00.0	The manager thought to himself,
1:01.0	now what?
1:02.0	My boss has fired me.
1:03.2	I don't have the strength to dig ditches and I'm too proud to beg.
1:06.7	I know how to ensure that I'll have plenty of friends who will give me a home when I'm fired.
1:11.5	So he invited each person who owed money to his employer to come and
1:14.7	discuss the situation. He asked the first one, how much do you owe him? The man
1:20.2	replied, I owe him 800 gallons of olive oil.
1:24.0	So the manager told him, take the bill and quickly change it to 400 gallons.
1:28.5	And how much do you owe my employer?
1:30.0	He asked the next man.
1:31.6	I owe him 1,000 bushels of wheat was the reply. Here, the manager said,
