This is the third part of a five-part series where I am answering some of the more important,

frequently asked questions on SEO.

This episode's big SEO question is,

how do I retain my high-traffic blog posts that have a load of top rankings on Google.

As I mentioned in the last episode, myself and the other top blogging experts

recommend to not make any adjustments to the actual post itself when it's ranking in the

number one or two spot on Google.

You don't want to accidentally make a change that will cause Google to push a really good

ranking down.

The no adjustments rule is just for on-page elements of the post.

That includes the post content, title, images, alt tags, and anything else that you

could change when you click into editing a single post within WordPress. The best practice is to work

on building internal links on your own site to these high value posts.

These are known as off-page SEO, which essentially means any type of SEO that occurs

outside of the actual content on the blog post.

The goal is to increase the overall page authority of the blog post that you are wanting to solidify your top ranking in Google search for.

Page authority works the same way as domain authority.

Whereas domain authority is the calculation of authority for your domain.
