It's, number one, not easy trying to record these things

in the middle of a pandemic.

It's never easy when you have a South Carolina accent

that always makes things a little more challenging. Although Tim Scott sounds

fantastic, a part of that may be because he's in the United States Senate and I'm not.

But I want to apologize if you have any difficulty at all hearing it. We'll get this fixed.

It'll be perfect next time and I want to say thank you for spending another Tuesday with the track.

You're lucky in life if you find real genuine friendship.

It's one of the gifts that life gives us, but it's rare.

Genuine, real, good time and bad time friendship is incredibly rare.

It's probably even more rare in certain lines of work like politics.

But I did find real friends while I was in DC,

friends I still stay in touch with on a regular basis, even though I've been gone for a year and a half now.

At the top of that list is my guest today, Senator Tim Scott.

We met during orientation during the fall of 2010.

He was the best known and most beloved number of that historically large freshman class. He was, if I had to analogize, he was like Elvis Presley.
